2009 Racing Rules of Sailing

Posted by AJ Miceli on January 25, 2009

If you look over to the right you’ll see that I’ve added a new link to a blog about the changes to the Racing Rules of Sailing.  The blog appears to be very active so you might check it regularly.

99 Days ‘Til We Sail Again

Posted by AJ Miceli on January 25, 2009

Well, we’re in double digits as we head for spring splash.  Who cares if it’s 10 degrees right now, and there’s a foot-and-a-half of snow on the ground?  In 99 days the boat will be “tippy” again and we’ll be sailing.  Hang in there, and think about all the fun we’ll have waxing the hull and painting the bottom with VC 17 🙂  I’m already working on the To-Do list.

Remember, you can keep checking the countdown timer by clicking on the tab above.

Countdown-to-Splash Timer Started

Posted by AJ Miceli on January 2, 2009

It’s been a busy fall and holiday season, so I didn’t get the infamous Countdown-to-Splash timer up and running until today.  It looks like the place where this blog is hosted won’t let javascript run in its pages, so the countdown actually lives at ajmiceli.com.  You can access it by clicking on the “2009 Countdown” page tab above, and then clicking on the link.  Unfortunately, that’s two clicks instead of just one.  Sorry.  If you’re really motivated (and too lazy to follow all the links) you can bookmark the countdown page after you get to it.

In any case, the timer is set for Splash on Monday, May 4, 2009.  That’s the Monday of final exam week at Gannon.  Depending on the weather in April and May it may be a little ambitious.  I’ll adjust the date as we get closer, if need be.

BTW — Happy New Year, all!
